TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ALL PUPPY SALES
Border Collies are known world wide to be the smartest dog in the world. They are also very beautiful and loyal dogs for any family to own. Responsible breeders only recommend them to the correct people. With their enthusiasm for life they don't suit everyone and we recommend looking into the breed and it's characteristics as much as you can before entering into a lifetime with a Border Collie Puppy.
I have some information on my pages but there are many more resources especially on the internet about this wonderful breed.
Ancrum Border Collies, as a registered breeder with the Governing Canine Council are commited to a Breeders Code of Conduct. This is a very strict set of rules that we take seriously. We use DNA testing for all known genetic diseases in this breed and will not breed with out clear results or clear through parentage.
All our puppies are amazing and deserve only the very best in life and due to this we will only consider a family that are happy to agree to the following terms and conditions.
* You agree to participate in Puppy School and/or training programs for your new family member. Usually held at your local dog club grounds or Vet Practice. This encourages responsible pet ownership, training and correcting behaivoral problems early on.
Due to the Border Collie being a natural working breed, the benifits you will both receive are endless and very important.
The Border Collie if not properly mentally stimulated will become destructive and obtain bad habits, ie. barking, fence chasing, digging etc.
PET HOMES / Limited Register
* All puppies will be registered. Puppies sold to pet homes will be on the limited register. This means your puppy will be Registered with papers to the Canine Council but cannot be used for breeding and cannot be officially shown in competitions at affiliated clubs.
Your local Dog Clubs will allow to to train and compete in there local events.
This inturn confirms that you will not use your dog for breeding purposes and if you do so, we at Ancrum Border Collies can not and will not be held responsible for your actions and the health of your dog and any subsequent puppies.
Please remember that Limited register dogs were not considered up to breed standard to breed or show with, no matter 'how perfect' they seem to be. The time and cost that goes into a litter is enormous.
* All pet puppies on the limited register will be desexed (neutered) within 12 months. We can arrange for early neuter with my Vet for a much cheaper fee than an adult dog prior to them going home. This fee is not included in the puppy price but I am happy to arrange this for you. It is now a common operation that is less painful and the puppy recovers much quicker.
Being a responsible pet home is having a desexed dog.
SHOW HOMES / Main Register
The main register allows you to Show and Compete in all national affilatted shows and events including confirmation, agility, tracking, obedience, flyball, herding etc and all with the bonus of getting Australian Titles, points and awards on their registration papers. The main register also allows your puppy to later be bred with under the Canine Council's Code of Conduct.
All main registered puppies will remain in joint names. Please do not offend by asking otherwise.
Your Border Collie will give you a lifetime of joy and fill your heart with love. Please join us in being a responsible dog owner.
